Authorities are investigating after a person was found dead Thursday in north suburban Skokie.

About 8:36 a.m., officers responded to a call of an unresponsive male in the 8100 block of Knox Avenue who was lying down in a gangway between buildings, according to Skokie police.

The male was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. The Cook County medical examiner’s office confirmed the death but did not release additional information.

Skokie police and the North Regional Major Crimes Task Force are investigating.
