A 51-year-old man was found dead in a house fire Wednesday in Braidwood.

Edward T. Emery was pronounced dead at the scene in the 400 block of Anndon Drive, according to Braidwood police and the Will County coroner’s office.

When firefighters arrived shortly after 1:55 p.m., neighbors told them they believed the homeowner was inside, police said. Crews pulled Emery from the home, but he was pronounced dead.

Braidwood police and the state fire marshal are investigating the fire, police said. Autopsy results are pending further testing.
