Upated...WASHINGTON — Vice President Joe Biden hits Chicago on Monday to headline a fundraiser for Gov. Pat Quinn, delivering on the White House pledge to help the Illinois Democrat and an event to benefit the Democratic House political operation.

The price tag for the Quinn dinner event is $15,000.

Quinn is locked in a tight race with Republican Bruce Rauner. Last May I reported that the White House was planning a “sustained effort” to re-elect Quinn. Read my column with White House political director David Simas discussing the Quinn race HERE. Quinn and President Barack Obama breakfasted together when the president was in Chicago in May.

Quinn campaign spokesman Brooke Anderson said, “Gov. Quinn deeply appreciates the leadership of Vice President Joe Biden, who has always been a partner and crusader for working families. The Vice President understands what’s at stake in this election and we’re looking forward to welcoming him in Chicago.”

Biden’s other fundraiser is for the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee.
