Lots of people like to blame President Barack Obama for lots of things these days, and Kansas. Gov. Sam Brownback (R) has no problem blaming Obama for his less-than-spectacular performance in Tuesday’s primary.
Brownback won with 63.3 percent of the vote, compared to Jennifer Winn’s 36.7 percent, but it was a much smaller margin of victory that was anticipated for the tea party-favored Brownback.
And the GOP governor blames Obama.
“I think a big part of it is Barack Obama,” he told 41 Action News. “That a lot of people are so irritated at what the president is doing, they just, they want somebody to throw a brick.
“I think it’s a lot of deep irritation with the way the president has taken the country.”
A number of polls have shown that in the general election, Brownback trails Kansas House Minority Leader Paul Davis (D).
