WASHINGTON– President Barack Obama  delivers remarks at a naturalization ceremony for active members of the military and then presides, with first lady Michelle, over the annual Fourth of July celebration at the White House. Big game in town today: the Nationals host the Cubs.

In the morning, the President will deliver remarks at a naturalization ceremony for active duty service members and civilians at the White House. U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services Acting Deputy Director Rendell Jones will present the countries of the candidates for naturalization and Deputy Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas will deliver the oath of allegiance. This event is open press and will be streamed live on  www.WhiteHouse.gov/live .

 

In the evening, the President and the First Lady will celebrate the Fourth of July by hosting military heroes and their families for an Independence Day celebration with a barbeque, concert and a view of fireworks on the South Lawn. Staff and their families from throughout the Administration will also attend this event for the concert and fireworks viewing. The President will deliver remarks. His remarks will be pooled press.  The event will be streamed live on  www.WhiteHouse.gov/live .
