The Tulsa World reports that Sen. James Inhofe (R-Okla.) claims that the majority of Oklahomas believe President Obama’s administration promotes Islam to the detriment of Juedeo-Christian faiths. Obama has repeatedly stated he is a Christian and has had numerous discussions and interviews on his faith.

Inhofe, as quoted on the Senate floor on Wednesday, questioned the administration and, seemingly, the president on his religous credentials:

“Oklahomans regularly ask me — and I don’t really think this is unique just to Oklahoma, I think it can be in almost any state — but how they regularly ask me why we have an administration that suppresses our Judeo-Christian values while praising Islam,” Inhofe said on the Senate floor, perhaps ironically, during a speech to mark the 225 anniversary of George Washington’s first inaugural address.

The Oklahoman ran a poll asking Oklahomans if this was how they felt. Of the more than 1,000 votes, about 25 percent agreed with Inhofe’s statement about Obama.
