Multi-millionaire venture capitalist Bruce Rauner has sunk another $1.3 million into his campaign fund, state board of election records show.
Rauner is showing his financial strength with just three weeks left in the four-way GOP primary for Illinois governor.
Rauner is facing a series of attack ads — including two union-funded TV spots and one lengthy mailer that was sent to Republican voters statewide.
Rauner has donated more than $5 million of his own money to his campaign fund — including $501,000 last week.
Last year, Rauner’s self-funding meant the caps were lifted for all the candidates — including Democratic incumbent Gov. Pat Quinn.
