A threatening phone call has prompted a lockdown at Mount Sinai Hospital on the West Side late Thursday morning.

Officers responded to the hospital at 1500 S. Fairfield Ave. about 10:25 a.m. Thursday after someone made a phone calling threatening the hospital, according to police News Affairs Officer Janel Sedevic.

Sedevic said the hospital is on a “precautionary lockdown” as police investigate.

She would not confirm reports that the caller threatened to come to the hospital with a gun.
