KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Back-to-back two-out doubles by Alex Gordon and Salvador Perez in the eighth inning pushed across the go-ahead run after the Sox had rallied from a two-run deficit in the top of the inning, and the Kansas City Royals held on to defeat the White Sox 4-3 on Saturday afternoon at Kauffman Stadium.

Gordon doubled to the right-center field wall against lefty Scott Downs (0-1) and scored when Perez doubled down the third-base line against Maikel Cleto.

The Sox, trailing 3-1 in the eighth, tied it against reliever Wade Davis (1-1) on an RBI single by Conor Gillaspie and a sacrifice fly by Paul Konerko, who made his first start of the season.

Pinch hitter Adam Dunn walked against closer Greg Holland to lead off the ninth, and pinch runner Leury Garcia stole second with one out, but Holland struck out Marcus Semien and got Jose Abreu on a grounder to third to end thegame.

The Sox, who fell to 2-3 after a 2-0 start, got a good outing from left-hander John Danks, who allowed three runs over seven innings. Danks walked four, including two in a two-run fourth when he walked in a run and gave up four (consecutively) of his five hits allowed , but finished strong by retiring the last eight batters he faced.

Danks struck out six. He threw 115 pitches.

Sox pitchers have issued 24 walks in their last four games.
