A postal employee was shot with a paintball gun Friday morning in Ashburn on the Southwest Side.

The employee was delivering mail on foot at 10:25 a.m. when they were struck by paintball gunfire in the 3900 block of West 76th Place, according to preliminary information from Chicago police.

Officers responded to the scene and began investigating. The extent of the victim’s injuries was unclear.
