Man killed in Dunning drive-by

A 29-year-old man was fatally shot in a drive-by Monday in Dunning on the Northwest Side.

Enrique Rivera was northbound in a vehicle at 3:53 a.m. in the 4000 block of North Narragansett Avenue when a male fired shots from a dark-colored SUV, Chicago police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office said.

He was was taken to Illinois Masonic Medical Center where he was pronounced dead, authorities said. An autopsy released Tuesday found he died from a gunshot wound to the chest and ruled his death a homicide.

No one is in custody as Area North detectives investigate.

The 59-year-old was found about 7 p.m. in the 6700 block of South Chappel Avenue with a gunshot wound to his abdomen, police said.
