A 17-year-old boy was wounded in a shooting Thursday in South Chicago.

About 1:57 p.m., he was in the 8200 block of South Coles Avenue when he was shot in the elbow, Chicago police said.

He was taken to Trinity Hospital, where his condition was stabilized, police said.

The circumstances of the shooting are unknown at this time, police said. Area South detectives are investigating.
