One man was killed and another was injured Friday in a shooting in Chatham on the South Side.
The pair was walking about 2:10 a.m. in the 7800 block of South King Drive when two males approached and opened fire, Chicago police said.
One man, 31, was shot several times and taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead, police said.
He was identified as Rico Hardin, the Cook County medical examiner’s office said.
An autopsy conducted confirmed Hardin died of multiple gunshot wounds, the medical examiner’s office said. His death was ruled a homicide.
The other man, 35, was grazed on the head and refused medical attention.
Area Two detectives are investigating.
