Richard Holic, who was last seen canoeing on Lake Michigan near Rogers Park was found dead in the lake near Belmont Harbor, authorities said.

Police canceled the 74-year-old’s alert Monday, initially stating he had been found safely.

A body pulled from the lake near Belmont Harbor on Sunday has since been identified as Holic, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.
