A 17-year-old boy was fatally shot Saturday in Humboldt Park on the Northwest Side.

About 11:25 a.m., he was in a large crowd of people in the 1100 block of North Monticello Avenue when he got into an altercation and someone from the group pulled out a gun and fired shots, Chicago police said.

The boy, identified as Antiwon Douglas, was struck in the left side of his chest and taken to Stroger Hospital, where he died, police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office said. He lived in Humboldt Park.

An autopsy said Douglas died of multiple gunshot wounds and ruled his death a homicide, according to the medical examiner’s office.

Area Four detectives are investigating.
