Man killed in Englewood shooting

A man was shot to death Thursday in Englewood on the South Side.

Officers responding to a ShotSpotter alert just after 1 a.m. found him unresponsive in an alley in the 6900 block of South Peoria Street, Chicago police said. He had been shot multiple times in the head and body.

He was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where he died, police said.

The Cook County medical examiner’s office identified him as Kyani J’zon Sewell, 26.

An autopsy confirmed he died of multiple gunshot wounds and ruled his death a homicide, the medical examiner’s office said.

Area One detectives are investigating.
