Man fatally shot in South Shore

A man was found fatally shot Thursday in South Shore on the South Side.

The man was found about 8:30 a.m. lying in the mouth of an alley in the 7300 block of South Phillips Avenue with a gunshot wound to the back of his head, Chicago police said.

He was taken to University of Chicago Medical Center where he was pronounced dead, police said.

The Cook County medical examiner’s office identified the man as 23-year-old Antoine Jackson, of South Shore.

Area One detectives are investigating.
