Man killed, another hurt in Austin shooting

One man was killed and another was injured in a shooting Saturday in Austin on the West Side.

They were outside with a group at 1:36 a.m. in the 5900 block of West Huron Street when someone fired shots, according to Chicago police.

A 28-year-old was hit in his head and torso while the other man, 21, was shot in the chest, police said. Both were driven to West Suburban Medical Center in Oak Park.

The older man died at the hospital, while the younger man was in fair condition, police said.

The Cook County medical examiner’s office identified him as Deangelo Mills, a resident of Austin.

No arrests have been made as Area Four detectives investigate.
