NEW YORK — Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry is “doing well” after he walked off a New York City stage during a performance with Johnny Depp and Alice Cooper and was taken to a hospital, a representative said Monday.

Perry became ill around 9:30 p.m. Sunday while performing with the Hollywood Vampires rock group at the Ford Amphitheater in Brooklyn’s Coney Island.

An administrator at Coney Island Hospital confirmed the 65-year-old Perry had undergone tests. Further details were not released.

“Joe Perry is doing well and resting and appreciates all your good wishes,” said the group’s representative, Sujata Murthy.

Cooper tweeted, saying “our brother” Perry was stable and with family.

Fan video posted on social media shows Perry sitting onstage while playing guitar, then slowly walking off. Witnesses said medics immediately went to his aid offstage. The band kept playing.

The band’s name refers to a ’70s drinking club Cooper was part of that also included John Lennon, The Who’s Keith Moon, Harry Nilsson, Bernie Taupin and Micky Dolenz of the Monkees.

In February, the Hollywood Vampires performed a tribute to the late Motorhead frontman Lemmy Kilmister at the Grammys.

Closer to Chicago, the band played Aurora’s RiverEdge Park on July 6.

Late Sunday, Perry’s Twitter account featured a message thanking fans for their support and updating his condition at a New York hospital where he was taken following his collapse:
