Warner Bros. has reportedly shelled out big bucks for the rights to produce films based on the late author Don Pendleton’s anti-terrorist operative Mack Bolan — featured in the popular series of novels that have sold millions of copies around the globe over the past few decades.

Key to all this is Bradley Cooper who is expected to play Bolan, with the actor’s “Hangover” trilogy director Todd Phillips slated to direct. Cooper is also involved as a producer in this project.

If it all comes to fruition, as expected, this could represent the first action franchise for the Oscar nominee.

First reported by deadline.com, this concept has been bounced around by Hollywood for many, many years, with everyone from the late Steve McQueen to Sylvester Stallone to Clint Eastwood and Vin Diesel being discussed as potential Mack Bolan stars.
