Chicago’s eighth blackbird wins Grammy

The acclaimed Chicago-based ensemble, eighth blackbird – currently artists in residence at Chicago’s Museum of Contemporary Art – just won its fourth Grammy Award for their album “Filament,” in the category of Best Chamber Music/ Small Ensemble Performance. The album, featuring world-premiere recordings of works by Bryce Dessner, Nico Muhly, and Son Lux, plus a Philip Glass classic, was released on Chicago’s own Cedille Records.
