In our politically correct era, even what may have been intended as a simple joke can cause controversy.

During the Saturday taping of Spike TV’s “Guys Choice Awards” show, Clint Eastwood attempted a stab at humor with a remark about Caitlyn Jenner — while introducing Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. In his comments, Eastwood said Johnson was similar to other athletes who had gone on to find further fame as actors, “like Jim Brown and Caitlyn Somebody.”

Reportedly the quip bombed with the audience at the show, and a Spike TV spokesman confirmed the network “will remove the reference in the version that will air” on June 18.
