The Harris Theater for Music and Dance today announced a first-ever association with Lyric Opera’s Lyric Unlimited.
The new venture, “Beyond the Aria” — a performance series presented on the Pritzker Pavilion stage in Millennium Park Oct. 21, Nov. 10, and Jan. 14, 2015 and March 10, 2015 — will feature international opera singers from the Lyric’s upcoming season as well as rising stars from Lyric Opera’s Ryan Opera Center.
The artists will perform a repertoire of their choosing, which may include Broadway, American Songbook, Jazz, and more, with accompaniment by pianist Craig Terry. The audience will be seated “cabaret-style” on the enclosed stage of the Pritzker stage.
Audiences will enjoy these intimate performances “cabaret style,” seated on the enclosed stage of the Pritzker Pavilion. at cafe tables and choral risers.
Subscriptions for the four-performance series (starting at $99) go on sale Sept. 4. Single performance tickets ($35) will go on sale Sept. 16, and will be available at the Harris Theater box office, 205 E. Randolph, by phone at (312) 334.-777, and online at HarrisTheaterChicago.org.
