A working visit to Chicago will be part of the holiday plans of Ariana Grande, Ellie Goulding and the other pop stars booked at the annual Jingle Ball radio promotion show.
The Backstreet Boys, Tove Lo, Lukas Graham, Daya and Hailee Steinfeld also are set to perform at the Dec. 14 concert at the Allstate Arena in Rosemont. One Direction singer Niall Horan will make a “special guest appearance,” Tuesday’s announcement said.
Chicago’s WKSC-FM (103.5) presents the show. Between Thanksgiving and Christmas, similar concerts with different acts are planned in 11 other cities by KISS FM parent company iHeartMedia.
People with credit cards from sponsor Capital One get first crack at tickets at 10 a.m. Thursday at www.iHeartRadio.com/CapitalOne. General public sales begin at noon Monday at www.iHeartRadio.com/JingleBall.
Meanwhile, tickets are already on sale at Ticketmaster for the Jingle Bash 2016, the annual holiday show presented by rival pop station WBBM-FM (96.3). Britney Spears, Shawn Mendes, Fifth Harmony, the Chainsmokers, G-Eazy, DNCE, OneRepublic and Alessia Cara are scheduled to perform at the Allstate Arena on Dec. 10.
