UPDATE MARCH 17: A report in the Chicago Tribune states that Martin Scorsese has no plans to film at Soldier Field.
The Dailybeast.com is reporting that legendary filmmaker Martin Scorsese (“The Last Waltz,” “Goodfellas,” “The Departed,” “Raging Bull,” “Wolf of Wall Street”) will be filming the Grateful Dead’s sold-out shows in Chicago over the Fourth of July weekend.
According to the site: Footage of the shows, also shot by director Amir Bar-Lev (“The Tillman Story”), will be included as part of an upcoming feature documentary on the Grateful Dead that will hit theaters in 2016.
The band lineup for the concerts consists of the surviving members of the Grateful Dead: Bob Weir, Phil Lesh, Bill Kreutzmann, and Mickey Hart, and Phish’s Trey Anastasio filling in for late front man Jerry Garcia.
