“Weird Al” Yankovic, John Mulaney and behind-the-scenes voices from “The Simpsons” and “Cabin Boy” are among the funny folks booked for the second annual Chicago comedy festival presented by the Onion and the A.V. Club.

Billed, like last year’s event, as “the 26th Annual Comedy Festival,” the May 26-30 celebration of the silly will take place at multiple city venues.

Among the highlights:

• Yankovic and his “UHF” director John Levey will show the 1989 parody film and answer audience questions at 7 and 10 p.m. May 27 at the Music Box Theatre. (“Weird Al” will be back in town for a Chicago Theatre concert a month later.)

• Mulaney, a St. Ignatius College Prep grad recently seen on his own Fox sitcom “Mulaney,” will perform at the Chicago Theatre at 7:30 p.m. May 30.

• “Cabin Boy” director Adam Resnick will show and discuss the much-maligned 1994 Chris Elliott comedy at Lincoln Hall (formerly the 3 Penny Cinema) at 8 p.m. May 26.

• Stand-up Kyle Kinane, a headliner at last year’s fest, will return for a set at 9:30 p.m. May 27 at Thalia Hall.

• Manning that venue the next night will be Eric Andre, host of an Adult Swim talk show alongside sidekick Hannibal Buress.

• Showrunner Al Jean and other writers from “The Simpsons” will discuss the long-running animated sitcom at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Athenaeum Theater.

• The Chicago sketch team the Katydids, now working on an upcoming TV Land series called “Teachers,” will perform at 7 p.m. May 30 at the Hideout.

The May 29 headliner is a “mystery guest” to be named at some later point.
