Wilco has canceled their May 7 appearance at the Murat in Indianapolis as pressure continues to mount against Indiana’s religious objections bill signed into law last week.
The band announced the cancelation in a Facebook post Monday afternoon.
“Hope to get back to the Hoosier State someday soon, when this odious measure is repealed,” the band wrote.
Indiana’s controversial law drew thousands of protesters on Saturday. Opponents say the law would allow businesses to discriminate against gay people. Indiana legislative leaders are scrambling to clarify the law’s language as threats of boycotts and protests continue to mount.
Ticket refunds are available.
