President Donald Trump, who has hinted tapes exist of his conversations with fired FBI Director James Comey, declined to say if they do on Friday.
STEINBERG: Trump’s one positive attribute, as I’ve mentioned before, is that he doesn’t believe in anything. Nothing at all, except of course himself.
Trump wants to “begin negotiations to re-renter either the Paris accord or an entirely new transaction,” but for now will “cease all implementation.”
He warned the scriptwriters not to base plot lines on Trump’s White House, because no one would believe them.
Separately, the Washington Post reported that the feds now deem a high-ranking White House official a person of interest in the Trump-Russia probe.
The White House has played down the importance and secrecy of the information Trump gave to the Russians.
Trump, who promised instant disruption, indirectly acknowledged Washington doesn’t change quickly. And he showed signs he feels the weight of office.
