A southwest suburban man faces a felony charge for allegedly leaving the scene of a crash late Wednesday that killed one man and injured four others in unincorporated Willowbrook.

Just before midnight, a silver Nissan Rogue headed south on Route 83 collided with a red 1999 Buick that pulled out into traffic from Mockingbird Lane, according to a statement from the DuPage County sheriff’s office.

The driver of the Buick, identified as Marlon K. Myles, 19, left the scene of the crash without stopping to provide help, the sheriff’s office said.

Police said Myles lives in a neighborhood near the scene of the crash.

One of the passengers in the Nissan, Abin Mathew, 26, of Westmont, was ejected from the SUV and pronounced dead at the scene, according to police and the DuPage County coroner’s office. He suffered blunt force injuries.

Four other men in the Nissan — ages 24, 25, 25 and 28 — were taken to Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove, according to the sheriff’s office.

Myles was charged with a felony count of leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death, the sheriff’s office said. Additional charges could be added pending the results of toxicology tests.

Myles was expected to appear in bond court Friday at the DuPage County Courthouse.
