One man was killed and at least seven other people, including a 14-year-old boy, were wounded in shootings Tuesday across Chicago.

The 29-year-old man was shot to death about 12:30 a.m. in the Austin neighborhood on the West Side.

Donta J. Lee was walking on a sidewalk in the 5200 block of West Gladys when a gunman got out of a white car and opened fire, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Lee, of the 1200 block of South 15th Avenue in Maywood, was shot in the chest and pronounced dead at the scene at 1 a.m., authorities said.

The 14-year-old boy was shot Tuesday night in the Kenwood neighborhood on the South Side.

The boy was sitting on a front porch at 9:53 p.m. in the 5000 block of South Drexel when someone opened fire from a black car, police said. He was shot in the left leg and taken to Comer Children’s Hospital, where his condition was stabilized. The shooting happened about two block’s from President Barack Obama’s home.

At 11:41 p.m., a 25-year-old man was shot in the Ukrainian Village neighborhood on the West Side. He was walking on the sidewalk in the 2300 block of West Chicago Avenue when someone fired shots from a light-colored sedan, police said. He was shot in the chest, left wrist and right armpit and was taken to Stroger Hospital in serious condition.

Less than an hour earlier, a 32-year-old man was shot in the chest and left wrist in the 1900 block of East 81st Street in the South Chicago neighborhood, police said. Friends took him to South Shore Hospital, but he was transferred to Stroger Hospital, where his condition was stabilized. The man “would not give any further details on incident,” police said.

Less than an hour earlier, a 15-year-old boy was shot in the Logan Square neighborhood on the Northwest Side. He was standing on the sidewalk with a group of males in the 2600 block of North Lawndale at 9:08 p.m. when another male walked up and opened fire, police said. The boy suffered a gunshot wound to the neck and was taken to Comer Children’s Hospital, where his condition was stabilized. A police source said the boy is a documented gang member.

About 7 p.m., a 49-year-old man was shot in the back in the 2000 block of East 80th Street in another South Chicago attack, police said. He was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in critical condition. The man may have not have been the intended target of the shooting.

Earlier Tuesday afternoon, a man was shot in the Belmont Cragin neighborhood on the Northwest Side. The 21-year-old was shot in the abdomen at 5:08 p.m. in the 2800 block of North Austin, police said. He was taken to Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, where his condition was stabilized.

Tuesday’s first nonfatal shooting happened about more than 12 hours earlier in the Gage Park neighborhood on the Southwest Side. A 20-year-old man was shot in the back about 4:45 a.m. in the 5400 block of South Albany, police said. Someone dropped him off at Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was listed in serious condition. The circumstances of the shooting were not immediately known, but police said it was thought to be gang-related.
