Two people were shot, one fatally, Tuesday evening in south suburban Country Club Hills.

Officers responding to a call of shots fired at a home in the 18100 block of Baker Avenue about 5:45 p.m. found 41-year-old Ryan Jones on the front porch with multiple gunshot wounds, according to Country Club Hills police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Another male victim with a leg wound was inside the house, police said.

Jones was taken to Advocate South Suburban Hospital in Hazel Crest, where he died at 6:26 p.m., authorities said. He lived in the 18300 block of Torrence Avenue in Lansing.

The other person was hospitalized as well. His injury wasn’t considered life-threatening, police said.

The investigation has been turned over to the Cook County Major Crimes Task Force, police said.
