Eleven people were shot across the city on Thursday, leaving two dead.

The latest fatal shooting happened about 10 p.m. in the West Englewood neighborhood on the South Side.

Devante Norwood, 22, was standing in the lot of a gas station in the 7000 block of South Ashland when someone walked up, shot him twice in the head and then took off in a black SUV, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office. Norwood, of the 6800 block of South Bishop, was dead at the scene.

Less than 10 minutes earlier, a 25-year-old man was shot dead in Lawndale on the Southwest Side.

Aaron Jackson was on a sidewalk in the 1500 block of South Komensky when someone in a dark-colored minivan opened fire, hitting him in the abdomen, authorities said. Jackson, of the 1300 block of South Lawndale, was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he died at 11:28 p.m.

The most recent nonfatal shooting happened about 8 p.m., when two men were wounded in what police called a domestic-related attack on the South Side. The men, ages 55 and 54, were in a vehicle in the 1200 block of East 75th Street when someone walked up and fired shots, police said. They drove to the 8700 block of South Lafayette for help, the older man with a gunshot wound to the leg and the younger to the shoulder. Both were taken in good condition to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn. 

Fifteen minutes before that, a 32-year-old man was shot in the foot and calf in the 1500 block of West Jonquil Terrance in Rogers Park on the North Side, police said. He was taken in good condition to Saint Francis Hospital in Evanston. 

More Englewood gunfire left two women hurt about 2:45 p.m. The women, 25 and 32, were in a vehicle at 67th Street and Racine when someone in a Ford Taurus fired shots, hitting the younger woman in the back of the head. The other women was cut across the face by glass shards, police said. Both were taken in good condition to Stroger Hospital.

Four men were shot in a gang-related attack about 1 p.m. in the East Garfield Park neighborhood on the West Side in the 2700 block of West Lexington. A 19-year-old was shot in the face, a 21-year-old in the right thigh and an 18-year-old in the thigh, police said. All three were taken in serious condition to Mount Sinai. The fourth victim, 31, was shot in the buttocks and taken to Stroger Hospital, where his condition stabilized, police said.

Thursday’s first shooting happened just after midnight in Jefferson Park on the Northwest Side. A 34-year-old man was driving in the 5400 block of West Montrose when a dark-colored SUV pulled alongside and someone inside opened fire, hitting him in the right arm, groin and both legs, police said. His condition was stabilized at Illinois Masonic Medical Center.

At least 10 people were shot in Chicago on Wednesday, following 15 victims on Tuesday and 23 on Monday.
