Police are searching for a 16-year-old girl and an 8-year-old boy who have been reported missing from the West Englewood neighborhood on the South Side.

Deja Barnes, 16; and 8-year-old Dayln Barnes were last seen Thursday in the 7100 block of South Damen, according to a missing person alert from Area South detectives.

Deja was described as a 5-foot-2, 130-pound black girl with black hair, brown eyes and a medium complexion, police said. She was wearing a green top and shorts.

Dayln was described as a 5-foot-4, 90-pound black boy with black hair, brown eyes and a medium complexion, police said. He was last seen wearing a blue shirt and blue jean shorts.

They possibly have a duffel bag and black bags containing their clothes.

Anyone with information about their whereabouts is asked to call detectives at (312) 747-8274.
