A 17-year-old boy was shot Saturday evening in the East Chatham neighborhood on the South Side.

About 7 p.m., the boy was walking when a black vehicle pulled up in the 8200 block of South Ingleside and someone inside opened fire before driving away northbound on Ingleside, according to Chicago Police.

The boy was shot in the right leg and took himself to Comer Children’s Hospital, where he is in good condition, police said.
