17-year-old boy shot in East Garfield Park

A 17-year-old boy was shot in the wrist Tuesday afternoon in the East Garfield Park neighborhood on the West Side.

Around 2 p.m., he was sitting in a vehicle parked in the 3300 block of West Congress when a white SUV pulled up and someone inside opened fire, according to Chicago Police. The SUV took off north on Homan.

The teen took himself to Rush University Medical Center in good condition, police said.
