A 17-year-old boy was injured in a drive-by shooting Thursday evening in the Cottage Grove Heights neighborhood on the Far South Side.

He was standing on the sidewalk in the 9700 block of South University Avenue about 7:30 p.m. when a gray car pulled up and someone inside opened fire, according to Chicago Police.

The boy was shot in the left shoulder and was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where his condition was stabilized, police said.
