Two men have been charged with robbing someone at gunpoint Thursday evening in west suburban Glendale Heights.

The victim was walking in the 500 block of Sidney Avenue about 6 p.m. when 22-year-old Timothy Walls and 23-year-old Sayvon Jones walked up and started talking to him, according to a statement from Glendale Heights police. One of them then pulled out a handgun, pointed it at the victim and demanded his money and cellphone.

The victim complied and the suspect ran away, police said. Officers located them a short time later and took them into custody after a foot chase.

Walls, of St. Charles, and Jones, of Lombard, were each charged with a single count of armed robbery with a firearm, police said. They were taken to the DuPage County Jail.

Walls is being held on a $10,000 bond for the robbery charge, according to the DuPage County sheriff’s office. Jones is also being held on a $10,000 bond for the robbery charge as well as a $5,075 bond for a trespassing charge.
