Two 14-year-old boys were shot in the Austin neighborhood on the West Side Wednesday night.

The teens were outside in the 1000 block of North Menard about 7:45 p.m. when they were shot, possibly by someone in a passing vehicle, according to Chicago Police.

One of the boys was shot in the back and shoulder and taken to Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, while the other was taken to Stroger Hospital with a gunshot wound to his leg, police said. Their conditions had both stabilized.
