A man was shot Tuesday afternoon in the South Side Auburn Gresham neighborhood.

The 28-year-old man was standing on a corner at 12:57 p.m. in the 7900 block of South Laflin when two suspects emerged and opened fire, according to Chicago Police. The shooters fled in a blue car.

He was shot in the torso and his condition was stabilized at the scene, police said.

A woman police initially thought was also shot was later found to have suffered minor injuries while climbing a fence to get away, police said.
