A three-vehicle crash left a 62-year-old Sheridan man dead Saturday afternoon in Kendall County.

Around 2:50 p.m. Saturday, a 2005 Chrysler Town and Country and a 2017 Kenworth Tractor and Semi-Trailer were traveling on Route 71 east of Newark Road, Illinois State Police said.

For unknown reasons the Chrysler crossed into the westbound lane, striking the left side of the semi and then hit a second 2017 Kenworth Tractor and Semi- Trailer on the left side, ISP said.

The driver of the Chrysler, Philip Suman, was pronounced dead on the scene by the Kendall County coroner, ISP said.

The Illinois State Police Traffic Crash Reconstruction Unit is investigating the crash.
