A 41-year-old woman was shot Tuesday night while walking in the South Shore neighborhood.

At 8:06 p.m., she was in the 1700 block of East 71st Place when she heard shots and felt pain in her back, according to Chicago Police.

She had been shot in the back and was taken in fair condition to Northwestern Memorial, police said.
