61-year-old man missing from Uptown

Police are searching for a 61-year-old man who was reported missing from the North Side Uptown neighborhood.

Jesus Ortiz has been missing from his home in the 4500 block of North Sheridan since 2:44 a.m. Wednesday, according to a missing person alert from Chicago Police.

Ortiz suffers from a mental condition and is able to hear, but unable to communicate, police said.

He is described as a 6-foot, 165-pound Hispanic man with brown hair, blue eyes and a medium complexion. He was last seen leaving his home wearing only tan shorts and no shirt or shoes.

Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to call Area North detectives at (312) 744-8266.
