Seven people were injured, six critically, in a crash in the Washington Heights neighborhood on the South Side Wednesday night.

It happened about 8:15 p.m. at the intersection of 95th Street and Halsted, according to police and fire officials.

A vehicle that was speeding westbound on 95th made a right turn onto northbound Halsted and slammed into another vehicle at the red light, police said.

Six people were listed in serious-to-critical condition, fire officials said. They were taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn and Stroger Hospital.

A seventh person was taken to Little Company of Mary Hospital and Health Care Centers in Evergreen Park in fair-to-serious condition, according to fire media.

Their ages and genders were not disclosed, and it wasn’t clear how many people were in each vehicle. Police said none of the injuries was thought to be life-threatening.
