A 15-year-old boy who was shot nearly two years ago in West Englewood died Saturday, though the cause of death remains under investigation.

Toryion Conner died at Saint Bernard Hospital and Health Care Center at 7:37 p.m. Saturday, according to Cook County Medical Examiner’s office.

Conner and two other boys were walking in the 7100 block of South Loomis Boulevard about 11:20 p.m. on July 21, 2012, when two males walked up and opened fire, authorities said at the time.

All three boys – 13, 13, and 16 – were hospitalized in “stable” condition after the shooting, police said at the time.

An autopsy Monday was inconclusive pending further studies, according to the medical examiner’s office.

Area South detectives are investigating the death as a homicide, police said.
