Redskins safety Brandon Meriweather called Brandon Marshall a domestic abuser when asked about the Bears wide receiver’s insistence he be suspended or kicked out the NFL.

“He feel like I need to be kicked out of the league?” Meriweather said, according to Tweets by Washington Times reporter Zac Boyer. “I feel like people who beat their girlfriends should be kicked out, too.”

Meriweather, who was suspended one game for two illegal hits against the Bears, asked: ”You tell me who you’d rather have: Somebody who play aggressive on the field, or somebody who beat up their girlfriend?”

Marshall had a series of incidents with a former girlfriend, and in March 2007 was arrested on suspicion of domestic violence. Charges were dropped two months later.

Marshall declined comment Monday while walking off the practice field, but, moments later, Tweeted: “There is only one way to avoid criticism: do nothing, say nothing, and be nothing.”
