The Rolling Stones return this week with their first new single in seven years, a teaser from yet another retrospective collection, “GRRR! Greatest Hits,” due Mov. 13 in both 50-track and 80-track versions.

The rock legends recently recorded at least two new songs in a Paris studio, the first time the group — Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Charlie Watts and Ronnie Wood — has joined in a studio since making 2005′s “A Bigger Bang.”

“Doom and Gloom” is the single out today, available for download. “GRRR!” will also feature a new song called “One Last Shot.”

The new track is basic Stones — gnarly guitar from Keef, Jagger sounding remarkably young and snaky, and a shuffly rhythm that lands somewhere between “Jumpin’ Jack Flash” and ZZ Top’s “Give Me All Your Lovin’.”

The Stones are celebrating a milestone anniversary — 50 years since playing their first gig at a London jazz club on July 12, 1962.

Speculation is swirling that the band will play a series of anniversary concerts, including two next month in London and two in Brooklyn. Longtime sax player Bobby Keys, however, recently hinted at more shows, and adding a note of finality to the notion: “The reality is this train is going to pull into the last station pretty soon — I don’t know how soon. I’ve been saying this since 1980. But I feel like it’s kind of winding down. This may be sort of the ‘Sayonara, see you later, had a good time, keep in touch.’ I don’t know that for sure. I haven’t officially been told anything…I just take my cue primarily from what Keith says, so we’ll have to see.”

A career retrospective documentary, “Crossfire Hurricane,” airs Nov. 15 on HBO.
