Arsons reported on North Side

Since February, several arsons or attempted arsons have been reported on the North Side.

In each incident, an improvised incendiary device, molotov cocktail or flammable liquid was used to set the fire, according to a community alert from Chicago Police. The most recent was set at 1:30 a.m. Oct. 10 in the 1900 block of North Clifton.

The suspect was described as a white Hispanic man in his early 20s, between 5-foot-8 and 6-foot, 160-180 pounds, police said. He was driving a silver Ford Mustang with body damage on the passenger side.

Other fires under investigation were set at:

• 2:15 a.m. Feb. 29 in the 1900 block of North Clifton;

• 12:01 a.m. March 14 in the 1200 block of West Cortland;

• 1:03 a.m. March 26 in the 1700 block of North Kingsbury;

• 1:30 a.m. April 19 in the 1000 block of West North; and

• 1:03 a.m. Sept. 11 in the 1900 block of North Kingsbury, according to police.
