Auburn Gresham drive-by shooting leaves man, woman in critical condition

Three people were hurt – two critically – in a drive-by shooting in the Auburn Gresham neighborhood Sunday afternoon.

The shooting happened about 3:05 p.m. in the 1700 block of West 79th Street, when a dark colored vehicle drove past the three people and someone inside opened fire, police said.

A 23-year-old man was shot in the head and was taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he is in critical condition.

A 23-year-old woman was shot in the neck and was also taken to Christ in critical condition, police said.

A third man, 29, suffered a graze wound to the shoulder and refused medical treatment.
