A fire in Aurora on Sunday destroyed two homes and displaced 10 people.

Firefighters responded at 1:07 p.m. to a report of a structure fire in the 200 block of LaSalle Street, according to the Aurora Fire Department.

Crews found two houses on fire, both of which were heavily damaged by flames, which took crews four and a half hours to extinguish, a statement from the department said.

Both houses were deemed uninhabitable, leaving 10 people displaced, the department read. Total damage to both homes was estimated at $450,000.
