A west suburban woman has won $250,000 on a scratch-off lottery ticket.

Cathy Galindo of Berwyn bought the ticket at a Shell gas station at 5201 W. Addison St., according to the Illinois Lottery. She scratched the ticket in her car in the parking lot.

“It’s hard to believe this is real,” Galindo said. She plans to share her winnings with her family and buy a house.

The store received a bonus of $2,500, or 1 percent of the prize amount, for selling the winning ticket, lottery officials said.
